FAQ

What do I have to pay attention to when I get a corset?

The corset is specially tailored for your back and will not fit anyone but you. It is important to always wear a t-shirt underneath. Ideally, you should use a tight-fitting, seamless shirt to avoid skin problems. Tightening must be done correctly so as not to create any annoying problems.

How do I put my corset on best?

The corset is put on while standing. The fasteners are closed while lying down with bent legs. The lashing strength should be firm, but selected in such a way that breathing through the corset is possible without any problems.

Make sure that the waist of the corset is positioned 1-2 fingers above your waist to avoid pressure pain on the iliac crest.

Don't worry, we'll discuss how to put it on when we receive your corset.

What do I do if I get bruises?

Redness of the skin is acceptable as long as it is in the pressure area, resolves after 60 minutes, and is not painful. In the case of punctual redness associated with pain that does not fade after 60 minutes, you should contact your orthopedic technician and, if necessary, of course, your doctor.

How do I clean my corset?

To care for the corset, use a damp cloth with water without soap. No caustic cleaning agents! The upholstery can also be cleaned with 70% ethanol alcohol from the pharmacy.

How long do I have to wear my corset?

The daily wearing time and duration of the corset treatment is to be decided individually by your doctor depending on the scoliosis. It is important to monitor the scoliosis throughout growth.

Can I do sports with my corset?

During sports, the corset must be removed to ensure unrestricted freedom of movement. In the case of a leisure corset and all-day corset, sport counts as wearing time.

Is Physiotherapy Important?

Physiotherapy is very important for strengthening your back muscles and should definitely take place in parallel with your corset treatment.

Should I tell my classmates about my corset?

It is advisable to give a short paper or presentation about scoliosis - preferably in biology - so that your classmates get a better understanding of it. We would be happy to support you in preparing your presentation.

Are there many youths with corsets?
